Marrakesh – High Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazat – Roses Valley – Bomalen Dades

We depart Marrakesh to start our desert tour to Dades Gorges. We cross the high Atlas Mountains to reach Tizi-n-Tichkawhich is one of the highest road pass in Morocco (2260m). Here you will have the opportunity to take some perfect photos in this breathtaking view. We will drive through small Berber villages and beautiful landscapes to reach the Kasbah of Telouet. The building was home to T’hamis El Glaoui, the governer of Marrakesh and his family in the early 20th century. It is now frequented by Moroccan travellers and tourists. It sits in the village of Telouet nestled outside the Onilla Valley. The Harem and reception hall areas give one a good idea of the former luxury in which El Glaoui lived, as well as a look at the Andalusian and a Berber style of decorating. However, the older parts of the Kasbah are in complete ruins, making it difficult to see properly. Walking through the crumbling passageways is like walking through a maze and some have gotten lost exploring the dilapidated Kasbah. After that, we will visit the Ait Ben Haddou village. The kasbah is recognized by UNESCO world heritage site as a world patrimony. Many movies were filmed in this village such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, Queen of the desert, Kingdom of Heaven, Game of thrones, the Mummy… etc. We will continue our adventure to Ouarzazate or what is called the Hollywood of Morocco. You can visit the film studios, the old villge of kasbah Taouirirt. Our travel continues along what is known as the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs passing the Skoura oasis. We stop to visit Kasbah Ameridil and have time for pictures. Then we continue to visit the Valley of the Roses (KelaaM’Gounawhich is known by Festival of roses) the centre of Moroccan roses and rose products. Driving into the road of 1000 kasbah to get to bomalen dades.

Bomalen Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Ouarzazat – Merzouga

After breakfast, today’s journey will start by driving along the road of 1001 Kasbahs to Tinghir oasis. You will be enjoying the amazing scenery along the way of the remaining of fortified villages that were hosting the caravan roads until early 2Oth century. Upon arrival at Tinghir, which was a military post during the French occupation, we will deviate into a secondary road to the oasis. Feel free to walk next to the stream and watch the locals farming and herding their cattle. Your walk will end at one of the magnificent scenes of your tour: Todgha Gorges. After lunch at leisure at one of the local cafés, we continue to Rissani, which is one of the holiest towns in Morocco as the actual dynasty ruling Morocco ‘’ The Alaouites ‘’ is originated here, and its founder is buried locally. Rissani is also famous as a starting point of the ancient caravan roads crossing the Sahara desert all the way to Tomboctou. Mid afternoon, we will cross some rocky terrain all the way to Merzouga, where our camel caravan will be waiting for you. Enjoy a camel ride over Erg Chebbi dunes to watch an amazing sunset, before we return to our Sahara desert camp. Enjoy dinner under the stars while entertained by our local nomads hosts playing their drums all night. Overnight at your Sahara desert camp.

Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Midalet – Cedre Forest And Monkeys – Ifran - Fez

Very early in the morning we have a “Date with the sunrise”. In the middle of the desert, waking up early is a “must do” to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise you´ve ever seen at the top of a dune close to the camp. Then we return to Merzouga on the camels where a delicious breakfast is waiting for us. Once ready, we start our last day to the north through the Tafilalet palm grove, the biggest in the world. You´ll see thousands of palm trees along the 20km of road. This way leads us to the Ziz valley, which river comes down from the high Atlas and feeds the palm grove. Here we make a stop and from this high viewpoint, enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and the town of Aoufous. We make another stop in Midelt, just in the heart of the Atlas where you´ll have free time for lunch and rest for a while. In the afternoon we continue our way through the Cedar Woods where, if we are lucky, we´ll see some monkeys. The next place we´ll visit is the city of Ifrane, situated in the northwestern slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above the water level. Its broad avenues, its urban development with perfect cleanness, the gardens, the green areas and its architecture make this city look like a Swiss town. Ifrane feels misplaced in Morocco. That’s why it´s named the Moroccan Switzerland, and if that´s not enough it has an important ski resort, Michlifen, About 6 pm we arrive at Fez, transfer to the hotel, and end of our services.
